The ideal scenario is to have an acoustic piano or high quality digital piano at home. Although I would recommend starting with a cheaper alternative so you can be sure piano lessons are something you will to commit to. There are plenty of options around the £200 mark which are fine for beginners and as you progress you can upgrade accordingly.

Phillips Music Tuition provides piano lessons across all of Manchester. We have numerous students in areas such as, Wilmslow, Cheadle, Didsbury, Trafford and Moston just to name a few. If you don't want piano lessons in your own home then our studio space in Pollard Yard is only a 20 minute walk from the city centre. We also offer online piano and Music Theory lessons.

No, Phillips Music Tuition caters to all levels of musician. Whether you are a beginner with no experience, studying ABRSM grades or aiming to polish your skills for a conservatoire audition we can help you.

Phillips Music Tuition will always try to be flexible and accommodating but we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. As long as you give 48 hours notice you will not be charged and can rearrange if required. If there is no notice then full payment is required.

Our Piano lessons are varied and are dependant on the students goals . For example, a lesson for a student looking to pass an ABRSM practical Grade 5 would involve technique, scales/arpeggio, and sight reading tuition alongside in depth guidance on how to interpret and perform their pieces. Whereas piano lessons for a pop piano student would involve learning the Nashville number system and how to incorporate harmonic changes to chords progressions. When taking piano lessons with Phillips Music Tuition you can be sure we will have all bases covered.

Our tutors have taught students as young as 4 years but overall we would recommend 6+ as a starting age. This is because playing the piano requires good fine motor skills, hand eye co ordination, and developed cognitive skills to learn reading music and musical concepts.

You can start piano lessons at any age. It is never too late to start, we have had numerous older students (70+) who have made tremendous progress.
